I finished the intro class and I like fencing, what now?

Intro students wanting to continue fencing should enroll in our group lessons to continue their study. The sign-up form is on the main webpage and is much shorter to fill out. Fencers can attend both Mondays and Wednesdays and will also have access to the open fencing period between 7 pm and closing.

I Can’t make it to both class times!

We have an excellent student/coach ratio at our club and adjust each practice day according to the students in attendance. Many of our students opt to attend solely Mondays or Wednesdays and doing so won’t make you miss any material, though you will see the fastest improvement when attending both class times. Attendance isn’t tracked and we do not prorate tuition based on attendance.

I’m ready for my own gear now, what do I need?

A complete set of fencing gear ready for competition includes:

  • Mask

  • Jacket

  • Glove

  • Underarm protector

  • Knickers

  • Chest protector (optional for men, mandatory for women)

  • At least two electric weapons

  • At least two body cords

  • Mask cord

  • Lamé

  • Equipment bag to carry all above

Fencers can source their own gear online or place a purchase through the club. Links to reputable vendors can be found in the “Links and Other Info” section of this website. Purchasing through the club takes advantage of our discounts however it may take longer to receive your order compared to placing it yourself. The club makes no profit on equipment sales since we pass vendor benefits to our members in full.

Other than saving on shipping, there’s is generally no substantial cost savings between buying all your gear at once or buying them piecemeal. We don’t charge a fee to use club equipment, so it’s viable to purchase your gear bit by bit, starting with the most personal items while using club gear to supplement.

Don’t hesitate to ask for help on sizing and fitting, or details about gear options.
